Kids Can Achieve History

2002, Kids Can Achieve was formed by local parents, concerned professionals and members of the community in Harrow.
It was formed to support local children and young people whose educational, emotional, social and psychological needs were not being recognised. It became apparent that children from within the range of diagnoses which include ADHD, Autistic Spectrum Disorders and general communication disorders were particularly affected by this absence of understanding and suitable provision. Premises were sourced, a shop front in Pinner. Funds were raised to equip and refurbish. The management committee was formed and appointed a Director. Fund raising started, partnerships with local agencies developed. And finally started providing services for children aged 2-19 whose needs fell within our target groups.
Since these beginnings, the organisation has grown rapidly and has quickly become influential and respected amongst both statutory and voluntary agencies and most importantly the families we support.
2012, Kids Can Achieve moved to bigger premises in Harrow Weald.
2014, The Westminster Society started providing management support.
2016, Kids Can Achieve and The Westminster Society entered into a formal legal partnership. Under this arrangement Kids Can Achieve remains an independent, locally-based charity with its own Board of Trustees, but becomes part of the larger Westminster Society’s network.
