Meet Mandy Barton of Mandy Makes and Mends

After nearly 23 years in the RAF and being away more often from my young children & partner I knew it was time for a career change, to have a work life balance that would suit all of my family. On my resettlement from the RAF I was lucky enough to do a curtain/roman blind making course & a couple of dress making courses. My idea was to do alterations and make curtains & hand sewn roman blinds from home. Hence my business name! Unfortunately after advertising there was no interest, so I decided to just make gift items from textiles & paper and sell at local craft markets.

I love what I do! I hold classes in paper crafting, anything from card making, 3D items, memory books & albums. My work is at With Love from Lincolnshire in Lincoln, a shop that only sells local handmade crafts.

If you follow the CCA Facebook page you will have read my weekly ramblings on the whereabouts of our lovely makers!
